Course description:  This seminar interrogates “life” beyond its naturalized, self-evident understanding: as a cultural imagination, a social phenomenon, a potentiality that both enables and exceeds its economic and political harnessing. We address four broad topics: biopolitics, biocapital, the new vitalism, and biomedia.
